I need your Help. I just got myself a 2nd hand X40. Would like to know how do I get into the BIOS ? How do I install get to install another o/s, WIN2000, UBANUS or another o/s ? Where is the WIN XP PRO installed … on the HDD, chip etc ? Thanks in advance. Andy
Actually, you don’t even need to upgrade the drive. You can stick with the original drive and install Windows 7. Windows 7 on the Thinkpad x41 Tablet is literally as fast as one with a SSD. Albeit yes boot times aren’t on par but performance is there. Windows 7 makes the machine usable, where as with XP it was … well almost a paperweight. – Ravi Shanghavi
The sad part is, the drive is worth more than the computer itself. I was going to install an ssd in my x41, but it’s not worth the time and money. You can buy a new laptop with ready, cheap and available drives for next to nothing. I don’t know why they ever used these stupid ass microdrives in their design.
strange I don’t see the 2010 error. Don’t you get this error at boot time?

Lol, I know.. I own more than one SSD myself, I know very much how fast they are. Just saying, if you’re going to do a test… it’s best to have all your controlled variables in order for proper results.

Would not matter SSD is 2x faster but that’s only with the lower-end models. I’ve seen some that do a 1GB/s transfer speed which is 10x faster then a standard HDD.
Not to bag on you… but if you really want to brag about the SSD speed you should run a fair test: Same exact hardware in the computers (or just use the same PC and take 2 vids) and same exact drive image on both HDD and SDD. (So one doesn’t have less to load lol).
got to love the colour and design of the patriot inferno too! so sexy
No bench?

Jup maximum of 10 seconds. But that says (i think) not a lot about a computer. Thx anyway 🙂
Nice video!!!!almost complete, just need the shut down time, but I think is around 5 to 10 sec.!!!
