There’s a custom bios you can get to have it skip theHDD check thing
I used Kingston 8GB elite, but the result is not satisfying at all. Because of no cache, it took a long time to write large files. I tried linux and windows, and the boot up times are longer than HDD.

i have a very similar setup, just 16GB 300x SLC transcend. After year and something of writing the card gets stuck for 3-7s sometimes. I recommend using enhanced write filter with these…
i`m using a mini-IDE to CF adapter from ebay. the price was around 10€.
A CF-card in a notebook is a handy thing, its faster than the build-in HDD and its absolutely quiet. viva la SSD
Hi there, could you please tell me where you got the CF/IDE adapter? Do you know if ebay ones are good? Are you still using this setup? My X41 Tablet is awful slow, I would love to get a 16GB Transcend 300X. Please tell me more. Thanks. K.
