HDD vs. SSD – iMac SSD Upgrade with Intel X25-M G2 Postville 80 GB
Upgrade of an iMac 24″ from stock hard drive Hitachi 320 GB @ 7200 rpm to an Intel X25-M G2 Postville 80 GB solid state disk Followed that guide: www.ifixit.com but its an iMac (24-inch Mid 2007) www.ifixit.com
Do this in Mac OS X mode with similar programs and you can burn XP.
Wow… I’m blown away, I knew there was going to be a difference but damn, SDD blows it out of the water. Still too expensive but great for those who can afford it.
xp on a MAC? LOL #fail
What a waste. Why are you running XP on a Mac?
@MuXBoX
sry, can’t do this, the old (non-SSD) system isn’t existing anymore
@dnyoto
it’s an iMac (24-inch Mid 2007)
EMC 2134
sry, don’t know about the early 2008 issues
Which iMac version do you have? I read at a forum that X-25M is not compatible with imac early 2008 edition.
Thanks so much for the video, after alot of surfing, i could finally show my buddies the real difference of SDD!
Great vid showing off truly the difference an SSD drive can make to my iMac. Now could you rerun the test but first boost each system using gboost.com free software. I would love to know how much quicker still the systems will run.
I’ve resolved to buying an SSD for my next computer after seeing that.
